Teachers’ training module: “Creating a virtual classroom on the Moodle platform, part 1”: how to create a virtual classroom; how to use the forums; how to create a glossary.

 

Students will create accounts on the virtual classroom; familiarize with the environment; learn about forums as educational resources and use the moodle forums to discuss their first impact with the platform; create some brief glossaries of a topic of their choice (every school may choose a different topic).

Students will carry out the sample lesson and activities; self-evaluate their work; be informed about their results and evaluation criteria.

Teachers’ training module: Blogs as communicative and educational resources”: teachers will learn the general features of blogs and gain an overview of the most widely used blog publishing platforms and  blog formats/types (personal, professional (e-portfolio), community, etc.).Teachers will inform-learn (according to their expertise) about blogging, create sample blogs or update their existing ones, sharing them with the colleagues.

Teachers’ training module: Web 2 tools as global educational resources”: overview of the most widely used Web 2 tools as communicative and educational resources: videoconferencing tools; videocasting tools; screencasting tools; podcasting tools; photosharing tools; internet phone services, etc.

 

teachers will inform-learn (according to their expertise) about the above mentioned Web 2 tools, experiment their use with the other colleagues and make their students experiment them with their peers, having arranged students communication sessions with some schools in the partnership (according to the schools’ timetables).

Teachers’ training module: “designing e-lessons for adult learners”: teachers will discuss how  to design e-lessons (content organization, activities, evaluation, technical aspects) on the dedicated page of the teachers forums.

 

Optional modules: all schools, according to their possibilities/expectations will follow one or more optional modules, in collaboration with colleagues of the same discipline in the partnership. Such modules will be carried out from April 2009 to March 2010, with the exception of the summer months.

 

Contents have already generally been agreed, but will be detailed after the approval of the various institutions and the first Project Meeting. Subjects: European Literature; European History Maths, Sciences, English, ICT, Social Studies, Economics, IT, Electronics, Statistics.

 

Every school participate in one/different  module(s) and in a general discussion about them (designing; type of activities, results, evaluation etc).

 

To contribute variety and action research into the partnership, teachers will strive to create (or make the students create) or adopt motivating  activities and applications, such as: power point presentations, c-map tools. webquests, online questionnaires, etc.; web 2 tools, and resort to as many evaluation  procedures as possible: summative, formative, objective, subjective students self-assessment.

 

Teachers will create or re-elaborate existing modules on their disciplines and deliver them to their students;

collaborate with all colleagues on general issues related to the modules; collaborate more specifically with colleagues of the same discipline and arrange parallel sessions with them and their students;

 

Students will: contribute to the creation of modules-if applicable; follow the modules; self-assess their work,

be evaluated and informed about evaluation procedures,

discuss their work, outcomes etc. with their peers and teachers.
