My name is Steluta (little star) and I am from Romania. In my opinion free time in Romania is planned depending on the financial statements of each other. If you have enough money that allows you to go in tours, shows, museums, if you do not have it settle for a visit to relatives and friends. How is your free time?

My name is Andreea, I am from Romania and, concerning the free time, i like to spend it with my family or friends, whether we do a trip or spend it outdoors. I think this is a mark of Romanians people.

Hello! I’m Carmen Radulescu, coordinator of Targoviste, Romania. Today we started to talk about the concept of “free time” in our country and … I had so many surprises: many of us have not free time …. Have been many discussions or explanations about the strong link between time and money, the strongest explanation was that … choosing to do something for accomplish your cultural or spiritual needs, you choose to spend some financial in this way than another.
So, if you don’t have enough money…you have to hard work to make them….as Romanian people do.
But was also a gain. I realise that it passed so long without thinking to my needs and….I need some “free time” for my soul. REsult: this evening we were to the concert. Thanks Chiara for choosing that topic, giving us a reason to take a break and think to our personal lives.

Hi, my name is Flori, I am from Spain.I’m going to talk about the free time in my city.
I live in a great city, here there are theatre, cinema and museums, and it`s a very interesting visit.
Besides, at the weekend we go out with our friends;in my city is very typical the bars and we drink and eat delicious things, and it is a meeting point for the friends.
But, I usually take care of my garden, which is very pretty and has a lot of plants, and it very often needs to water.
Althought I have a lot of free time, because I work at the Secondary School and I only work in the mornings and on weekends also got the free, therefore I can spend my free time in to do many things.

I am Danut – from Romania and talking about leisure we found that leisure is the one that you set it, not necessarily on the weekend, but any activity that you do with love and make a both load – mental and spiritual, can be considered free time.

Hi, everyone. My name is Juan Antonio. For those people having free time for leisure and for travelling, I´d like to suggest you to visit Granada, in the south of Spain, for me, it´s one of the most wonderful cities in Europe. I work outside the province of Granada and whenever I have the chance I visit the city. Granada is located only 30 Km from the Sierra Nevada Mountains and 50 Km from the Costa del Sol´s tropical beaches.
History: Its history has left an incomparable architectural legacy, such as, the Alhambra Palaces (a designated Heritage of Mankind location and for many, the eighth wonder of the world), the Albaizyn neighbourhood, and the Cathedral and Royal Chapel, burial site of the Catholic Kings.
Monuments: Visitors can enjoy the Alhambra Palace, one of Spain’s most visited monuments. For anyone who has read Washington Irvings Tales of the Alhambra it doesn’t take much for the imagination to run riot. His stay in the palace during the 1820s, where he wrote much of the book.
Places to visit: Granada is magical, especially at night, take a walk in the early evening up to Mirador San Nicolás and watch the incredible sunsets and the lights of the Alhambra. The former US president Bill Clinton described it as the most beautiful view in Spain. From this wonderful place you´ll be able to look at the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada behind the red fortress.
However, Granada is more than just the Alhambra Palace. It has one of the top universities in Spain and a wonderful Moorish quarter. It is one of the best cities in Spain in which you can taste the traditional Spanish tapas. There are numerous tapas bars especially in the narrow side streets around the Cathedral.
The city has one of the oldest and most important Universities in the country. Granada is the cradle of internationally recognized poets and writers such as Federico Garcia Lorca and Angel Ganivet.
Traditions: Festivals and traditions are the soul of the Andalusian people. These traditions dated back several centuries and transmitted from generation to generation. For example, one of the most remarkable traditions is the Holy Week which is a deep-rooted religious celebration. It is quite exciting when the processions fill the crowded streets of the whole towns in the provinces.
The “Día de la Cruz” is a popular tradition of Granada and its province. On the 3rd of May, balconies, patios, streets, squares and houses are decorated with flowered crosses and traditional utensils. Around the cross the people meet to eat, drink and dance.
The “Feria del Corpus” festivity dates back to the conquest of Granada. The city celebrates this event for a week. People enjoy drinking and dancing in the evenings at the fairground.
Cuisine: The cuisine of Granada offers a wide variety of appetising dishes. Naturally, it is part of the gastronomic heritage of Andalusia. The city of Granada represents traditional Arab cooking kept alive in Christian Spain, maintained by the Moorish. In Granada there are two traditions joined, the Moorish heritage and that of the convents. The cuisine of Granada includes such original dishes as garlic soup, pescaito frito( deep fried fish), paella, Spanish potatoes omelette and so on.
The visitors can enjoy a meal in the Alpujarra village which has all the ingredients for those who love traditional cuisine. The specialities are based on the products of the land. Around the city of Granada, the fertile Vega provides the necessary material for tasty dishes such as broad beans fried with cured ham.
You can also enjoy our exquisite soups and stews in winter time. The winters in the interior of the province are accompanied by tasty stew made with vegetables, meat and aromatic herbs.
The Mediterranean sea of Granada offers its inhabitants delicious fish, cooked alone or combined with rice or vegetable. The climate in the coast permits its visitors to enjoy tropical fruits such as chirimoyas, caquis, papayas, mangos, etc.
Finally, the desserts of Granada are clearly of Moorish origin with Jewish and Christian influence. There is ample choice of desserts for you to enjoy them. It is worth mentioning the San Antón pestiños( honey coated cakes ), doughnuts of Loja ( rolls made with lard from Montefrío), soplillos de almendra ( almond meringues ), leche frita ( cinnamon flavoured delicacy made with eggs and milk ).
And that´s all for today. I´m look forward to meeting you here!!

Hello people!
My name is Kate and I`m from Riga, Latvia. About my free time, in Riga we have many places where we can spend our free time, certainly all of it depends from your ages. If you are 18 you can visit our clubs, pubs, casino etc.
So if I speak about my own free time, of course it`s all depends from time of year.
So in the winter I like play snowballs, to go to skating rink and so on.
What about spring? This time of year I don`t like, I don`t know why! So I can`t something write.
Summer, I think it is the best time for all. Because it is time, when all people know what to do. So in summer we go on a beach, there we can play football voleyball and all these we do in the day-time! On the night we can meet friends and go to spent our time together, on the beach too, because there we make something that is called – beach-party!
And the fourth is autumn, so autumn is that time when we went to school meet classmates. We are studying and go to partyies on weekeneds!
So I think it`s all about my free time!
