ITI Marconi, Rovereto: hosting school

first week in June 2010

Welcome to the last Project meeting of this project.

Let’s start with some information about the Italian school.

The “Istituto Tecnico Industriale G. Marconi” (G. Marconi Technical and Industrial Institute) is located in the town of Rovereto (Province of Trento), in the region of Trentino Alto-Adige (South Tyrol), in Northern Italy, about 180 km. from the Austrian border.

Our school is large and modern, with about one thousand pupils aged 14-18 and one hundred fifty teachers. Its duration is 5 years and it offers three courses in:

1. Electronics and telecoms
2. Computer Science
3. “Liceo scientifico tecnologico” (Technical-Scientific Lyceum)

4. Adult Education technical school

The technical school, both for young (morning classes) and adult students (evening classes) is divided into two sub-courses:

Biennio (Biennial) (grades 1 and 2, with pupils aged 14-16): teaching general subjects.
Triennio (Triennial) (grades 3, 4 and 5, with pupils aged 17-19 (morning classes) and adults from 19 onwards (evening classes): teaching general and technical subjects (IT and electonics).

Now, please watch this video postcard of our region:
